City Explorer

Morning:

Slip on some comfortable shoes and pick up a cup of coffee from our Red Bean Roastery. Take a short trip to Cork’s most renowned Cathedral, St Fin Barres. Here, you’ll be steeped in Gothic architecture, spot Gargoyles, and be in wonder of the sanctuary ceiling. The Cathedral, designed by William Burges, was completed in 1879, although the site’s history stretches all the way back to the seventh century!

Afternoon:

Take a walk down the Marina, stopping at Cork’s food and craft market, the Marina Market. The market breathes new life and vitality into one of the city’s oldest industrial areas, located on the banks of the River Lee just a short stroll from the city centre. From there, wander down the water’s edge to Blackrock Castle, passing numerous rowers and sailors enjoying the City’s water.

Evening:

After a full day, unwind and dine in our Grain & Grill Restaurant, where Head Chef Conor Hawes and his team have crafted a scrumptious menu with a blend of traditional and local dishes. Enjoy a craft beer or gin from a local brewery or let our bartenders create a cocktail for you. After dinner, go parallel to the hotel to Oliver Plunkett Street and enjoy one of the many gigs on offer in Cork’s bustling bars, or simply relax in our Courtyard and watch the world go by.
