Things to do for Easter in Cork
Fota Wildlife Park & Fota House, Arboretum, and Gardens
Easter can be the cutest time at Fota because spring is the season when many baby animals are born. You can book tickets at Ireland’s wildest attraction at Fota Wildlife and then you can begin your wildlife adventure and walk among animals from all over the world! It is ideal for the entire family, with plenty of parking and buggy and wheelchair access. Fota House & Gardens is also a short walk from the Fota Wildlife Park, and at this time of year, many flowers are starting to bloom, creating a picturesque scene reminiscent of Downtown Abbey!
This gorgeous park in Cork City is the perfect spot for an Easter picnic. It’s ideal for families with young children because of the park’s wonderful playground, open spaces, towering trees, and abundance of wildlife. A cafe and a free museum are available for adults to enjoy Cork City’s natural scenery while relaxing on riverbank benches. In addition, there are a lot of live outdoor activities held here. Check out Cork’s iconic “Shakey Bridge,” which spans the river between Sunday’s Well Park and City Park.
Cork City Gaol Egg Hunt
One of our favourite family activities is the Easter egg hunt at the Gaol, one of Cork’s most prominent and historic landmarks. Although it was once a prison in the nineteenth century, this magnificent castle is now a popular tourist destination. Hunt for eggs throughout this historic building as well as its surrounding courtyards and gardens. The learn more about this event visit the Cork City Goal website.
The Donkey Sanctuary
If you want to spend a day outside of the city, you can go to the Donkey Sanctuary in Mallow. This free donkey sanctuary features beautiful nature and houses over 5,200 rescued donkeys from around the country. This is a heart-warming experience for people of all ages, and you can give our sponsored Donkey ‘Lorcan’ a big hello from all of us.
Lifetime Lab @ Old Cork Waterworks
Experience the warmth and friendliness of the Old Cork Waterworks. Indulge in a cup of coffee in their playground and gardens, and take a stroll around Victorian-era architecture. There is free parking on-site. And it’s a great spot to bring the whole family. Booking is advised and you can buy your tickets here.
